The below terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein (these "Terms of Service" or "Terms") describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services. SECTION 2 - ARTISAL HANDCRAFTED PRODUCTS & LEATHER CHARACTERISTICS

Own Leather items are built to order and made by hand using 100% genuine full-grain leather. Because leather is a natural, organic material and our process relies entirely on artisan craftsmanship rather than factory mass-production, please note the following:

  • Natural Texture & Imperfections: Natural leather displays distinct organic variations, such as grain patterns, healed scars, color gradients, and pull-up marks. These are not flaws or production defects; they represent the natural character of the raw hide and ensure each piece has its own unique identity.

  • Color and Appearance Variations: We have made every effort to provide an accurate photographic representation of our materials in our online stores. However, colors or leather tones may differ slightly from how they appear on your screen due to natural dye absorption, current hide batches, your specific device type, and your device’s screen calibration settings.

  • Expectations & Descriptions: All descriptions of products are subject to change at any time without notice at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time and may limit the quantities of any products that we offer to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction, on a case-by-case basis.

SECTION 3 - MADE-TO-ORDER PRODUCTION & CANCELLATIONS

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. Own Leather reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason at its discretion. We must receive and process your payment before your order is accepted.

Because we handcraft and customize items specifically for your order, the following strict guidelines apply:

  • Customization Validation: By finalizing your order, you represent that all text inputs, uploaded files (such as business logos or stamp designs), layout selections, and initials provided through our customization tools are correct and accurately spelled. We are not responsible for client-side typos, low-resolution uploads, or layout errors.

  • Strict 24-Hour Cancellation Window: For all personalized or customized goods, you have a strict 24-hour window from the exact time of purchase to request a cancellation or change. After 24 hours, raw materials are allocated and handcrafting begins; therefore, no cancellations, modifications, or balance refunds can be accommodated after this 24-hour mark.

  • Order Rejections or Adjustments: In the event that we do not accept, make a change to, or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you by contacting the e‑mail, billing address, and/or phone number provided at the time the order was made.

  • Commercial Restraints: You represent and warrant that your purchases are for your own personal or household use and not for unauthorized commercial resale or wholesale export.

SECTION 4 - PRICES AND BILLING

Prices, discounts and promotions are subject to change without notice. The price charged for a product or service will be the price in effect at the time the order is placed and will be set out in your order confirmation email. Unless otherwise expressly stated, posted prices do not include taxes, shipping, handling, customs or import charges.

We may offer, from time to time, promotions on the Services that may affect pricing and that are governed by terms and conditions separate from these Terms. If there is a conflict between the terms for a promotion and these Terms, the promotion terms will govern.

You agree to provide current, complete and accurate purchase, payment and account information for all purchases made at our stores. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address, credit card numbers and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

You represent and warrant that (i) the credit card information you provide is true, correct, and complete, (ii) you are duly authorized to use such credit card for the purchase, (iii) charges incurred by you will be honored by your credit card company, and (iv) you will pay charges incurred by you at the posted prices, including shipping and handling charges and all applicable taxes, if any.

SECTION 5 - SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

We are not liable for shipping and delivery delays. All delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Because our items require hands-on assembly, production lead times are separate from shipping transit times. We are not responsible for transit delays caused by third-party shipping carriers, severe weather, customs clearance processing, or events outside our control. Once we transfer products to the carrier, title and risk of loss passes to you.

SECTION 6 - REPAIRS, RETURNS, AND REFUNDS

Your purchases are subject to return or exchange solely in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms:

  • Custom/Personalized Goods: These items are non-returnable and non-refundable unless there is a clear printing error or structural manufacturing defect caused directly by Own Leather. Personal preferences, changing minds, or general dissatisfaction with size choices do not qualify for returns.

  • Plain/Non-Customized Goods: Eligible for returns within 30 days of delivery, provided they remain completely brand new, unused, and in their original packaging.

  • Refund Processing Time: Approved refunds are processed immediately back to your original payment method and will typically reflect within 3 to 5 business days, depending on your financial institution.

SECTION 7 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Our Services, including but not limited to all trademarks, brands, text, store layouts, product photography, product reviews, video, and audio, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof, are owned by Own Leather, its affiliates or licensors and are protected by U.S. and foreign patent, copyright and other intellectual property laws.

These Terms permit you to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on the Services without our prior written consent. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by Own Leather.

Own Leather's names, logos, product names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Own Leather or its affiliates or licensors. Own Leather is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with Own Leather. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Own Leather, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services. You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Own Leather.

We reserve the right to suspend, disable, or terminate your account at any time, without notice, if we determine that you have violated any part of these Terms.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, IN NO CASE SHALL Own Leather, OUR PARTNERS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS, OR THOSE OF SHOPIFY AND ITS AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS, CLAIM, OR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, REPLACEMENT COSTS, OR ANY SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF ANY OF THE SERVICES OR ANY PRODUCTS PROCURED USING THE SERVICES.

You and Own Leather consent to venue and personal jurisdiction in the federal and state courts located in Louisiana.
